I love seasons of weather.
The first cool mornings of the fall. The first warm spring days. Even the cold of winter is beautiful in its own ways.
There is something about seasons that bring about change, excitement and the start of something new.
Much like our dive into the start of a mild Georgia winter, December has brought about a change in my professional life. I am transitioning from my role as a ‘Squad Mentor’ and moving into a completely new position in the organization called ‘Base Development Manager’. More on that in a minute.
First, what is coming to a close?
In November I had the privilege of flying to the Philippines and helping facilitate the Final Debrief for this year’s WR Fusion squad. Although at times the journey looked a little different than we all expected, it was amazing to see how much the group had grown. Grown in intimacy with The Lord, capacity to love/serve others and understanding of their identity as children of God.
I was involved in the World Race Fusion ministry for the last 4 years. To say I was blessed by my experience would be an understatement.
It’s bittersweet to transition into something new but I’m humbled when I think about all the people I was able to serve with and encourage. Believers from 14 different countries have been a part of this journey and through it all I am walking away with a greater appreciate for what the ‘church’ truly looks like.
What is now beginning?
Over the last few years Adventures in Missions has begun to establish a few ‘bases’ around the world. Each is unique in it’s own vision, resources and team so it’s difficult to give a clear universal description of a ‘base’…hence the quotations…and also a part of why the role was created. 🙂
My role will include helping establish development plans that allow these bases to make effective long-term impact in the communities they’re planted in. Also included is establishing the best system for communication/synergy among the long-term teams and the leadership of the groups that pass through the bases.
I could go on with more details, but the bottom line is I’ll be able to help people love and serve others all over the world. I’ll be able to develop strategy/vision that brings the gospel and more to communities all over the globe. What an absolute honor.
Our current bases reside in Cambodia, Thailand, Eswatini, India, Ecuador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Guatemala. I will have the chance to spend about 3 weeks a year visiting some of these bases, doing training for the missionaries//team and seeing first hand what God is doing.
For everyone that has supported and encouraged me over my last few years with WR Fusion…Thank You. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. As I continue to support raise, travel a bit and invest my time/resources into His kingdom I’m excited to continue to share the ways in which I experience and see God at work.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Great new opportunity. Pinch yourself form time to time to remember just what a privilege it is to serve the Kingdom of God. Love you. Proud of you.
